Parenting Children and Teens

Parenting Children and Teens

We are known for our excellent therapists and our deep knowledge about how to help children and families create secure bonds, change problem behaviors, and build a healthy and happy family. We excel in our work with parents who want to start their children off in life with the best tools available.

We specialize in helping parents navigate the complexities of raising a family from birth to young adulthood. We help you to work on balancing your individual and couple needs with the needs of your children, understanding your child's brain development and how to use this knowledge to parent more effectively, and guide you through what can be challenging years as your child's needs change as he or she develops into a teenager.

We utilize Directive Play Therapy, Family Therapy, Parent Coaching, Collaborative Therapeutic Assessment, EMDR, and Neurofeedback to help families get out of difficult patterns and find ways to grow and live together more peacefully.

Family Therapy and Play Therapy:
Several of our therapists have specialized training in helping children and families to resolve conflicts and improve family communication through play therapy and/or family therapy. We use well-researched approaches such as the neurosequential model of therapies, sand play therapy, parent-child interactional training, and family systems theory to help reduce conflict and improve your connections with one another.

Parent Coaching:
Take the guess work out of parenting your toddler, child, or teenager. Our expert parent coaches can help demystify parenting and help you make well-informed decisions about how best to handle issues like discipline, schooling, family communication, and sibling rivalry. Parent coaching is helpful when you are looking for concrete tools and techniques to shift problem behaviors and create more positive interactions at home.

Children's Assessment:
Getting a clear data-driven picture of what is really going on with your child's difficult behaviors can be the key to unlocking their full potential. Psychological assessment can provide you with the answers you need to help your child get the help he or she deserves. Assessment can be incredibly helpful if your child or teen is struggling with challenging moods or behaviors at home, with peers, or at school.
