Adrienne

Meet Adrienne

Adrienne Long is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She is dedicated to collaborative, evidence-based, and integrative care for adults and adolescents. Adrienne considers all aspects of her clients’ lives and approaches client care with compassion and from a biopsychosocial framework.

In addition to prescribing mental health medications, Adrienne incorporates brief psychotherapy into sessions and addresses potential nutritional deficiencies and lifestyle factors.

She is also passionate about the healing potential of psychedelic medicines and works closely with clients participating in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.

Before returning to graduate school, Adrienne provided compassionate and skilled care as a registered mental health nurse at the Eating Recovery Center acute inpatient unit. Her experience as both a floor and charge nurse, and now as a PMHNP-BC, has given Adrienne a unique perspective on caring for those struggling with eating disorders and co-occurring concerns.

Common Questions about Psychiatry

Do you provide medication management?

Yes. Adrienne Long, PMHNP-BC, can work with you and your therapist to manage medication.

How do I become a new client?

You may request an appointment by calling 720.675.7123. If you miss our intake coordinator, Leah Dahl, please leave a message with your name, phone number, and an excellent time to reach you and, she will return your call within 24 business hours. You may also fill out the form below, and we will contact you with your preferred method.

What can I expect at our first meeting?

Adrienne strongly believes in an integrative approach and that everyone has the capacity for healing. She views medication as a support but not a magic wand that will fix everything. Lifestyle, food, and mood all impact how we feel. That is why it is so valuable for you to fill out all paperwork 24 hours before your appointment so that Adrienne can review your history before you come in. This saves time so that she can get into the details with you and collaborate with you to provide you with the competent, individualized care you deserve.

You should also expect a simple physical. Many nurse practitioners will take your vitals on the first visit to establish a baseline. They will take your blood pressure and temperature and weigh you. There is also the possibility of a blood draw. In some cases, Adrienne may send you for further testing or scans.

What does collaboration between my PMHNP-BC and therapist look like?

Adrienne will collaborate with you, your therapist, and any other medical provider so that you receive cohesive and consistent care.

Does Adrienne work with providers outside of therapists at the Catalyst Center?

Yes. You do not have to see a therapist at the Catalyst Center to work with Adrienne. She will collaborate with your current therapist or other providers you are working with already.

Do you accept insurance?
Like many practices, we are private pay. We are able to provide you with insurance ready forms that you may submit for reimbursement. If you are wanting to use your insurance, you may want to contact your provider to see what you qualify for regarding reimbursement. We are not a Medicaid provider.
Do you do genetic testing?

Please speak with Adrienne to inquire about genetic testing.

Do you provide virtual appointments?

Yes and no. Expect your initial session to be in person. Follow-up appointments will be determined case by case. If you are concerned about covid, here are the precautions we are currently taking:

  • Advanced cleaning protocols
  • Newly installed air filtration system
  • Mask wearing upon entry
  • Covid screening symptom checklist or providing proof of vaccination required for in-person visits.

*If you have had a fever or experienced covid symptoms in the past 48 hours, please reschedule your appointment.

What is your emergency and crisis policy?

We are not a crisis center, meaning that we ONLY have providers who provide services during regular business hours. Adrienne will return calls related to medication concerns during normal business hours the same day. If you are currently receiving services at The Catalyst Center and have an urgent matter that you believe cannot wait until the following business day, your situation is likely emergent and would be better served by calling 911 or the crisis services listed below.

An “urgent” appointment will be available during regular business hours, pending provider availability.
